When planning your digital storefront, the first thing you’ll need to do is decide what kind of digital products you want to sell. That way, you can choose an eCommerce platform that does exactly what you need.
What to sell?
There are many different types of digital products to sell, such as books, software, graphics, videos, and music, just to name a few. There are also just as many ways to sell that content, including paid access via a membership or subscription site where you can bill customers regularly, as well as selling individual digital products through a shopping cart system.
But, what if you just aren’t sure what type of digital content you intend to sell – or, you wish to expand your storefront in the future to include additional product formats?
For many of us, we start out selling individual products and later branch out to include collections or additional auxiliary components that enhance the value of our front running product.
To do that, you’ll need a robust system that can manage up-sells, one-time-offers, time-sensitive offers, and possibly allow you to rebill customers regularly for ongoing access to your digital content.
Do you need to see Options?
If you aren’t sure what kind of products you intend to sell, or you want to choose a digital storefront solution that will allow you to sell any type of digital content imaginable, allowing you to branch out as your business grows, I highly recommend that you check out Product Dyno.
Product Dyno is a powerful, yet user-friendly system that allows you to sell an unlimited number of digital products either with your own domain or a sub-domain offered through their system.
What I like most about it Product Dyno that you can sell virtually any kind of digital product you can think of, including licenses to plugins, apps, and software, and they make it exceptionally easy with a point and click interface that will guide you through the entire process.
It’s one of the easiest ways to get started, even if you’ve never done anything like this before, or you have limited time to dedicate to setting up your shop.
Side Note: If you are anything like me and you want to prevent serial refunders from gaining access to your content only to turn around and dispute the charge, you can also use Product Dyno to immediately revoke access to your content. It’s simply one of the most robust, feature-rich solutions online.
If you want to build your brand online, rather than simply point customers to a subdomain remotely hosted by your digital storefront provider, you’ll want to register a domain name. Even if you choose to let your digital market provider host your files, you can still point your domain to the sub-domain and build your unique brand.
If you are looking for cheap domain name registrations from a company that’s been around for over a decade, check out www.NameCheap.com or www.GoDaddy.com
Cool Resource: If you want to check the availability of domain names on the fly, visit http://www.InstantDomainSearch.com and begin entering in keywords. The website will tell you whether a domain is available as you type in characters.
Once you have the domain, and you know what kind of digital products you intend to sell, you’ll want to decide whether you plan to host the website yourself or use a service that remotely hosts your products for you.
This is referred to as “self-hosted” or “remotely hosted”.
Remotely-hosted simply means that the provider will host your digital storefront for you, wherewith a self-hosted platform, you are setting up your website and installing eCommerce software.
With a solution like Product Dyno, for example, you can create subdomains for all your digital product sales pages, or use your website and Product Dyno can easily protect all your product pages.
If you choose to set up your hosting account so that you can store files and build your website, I recommend Blue Host as they are not only incredibly affordable and offer fast and reliable servers, but they offer top-notch customer support.
Depending on whether you plan to store your files, you’ll want to upgrade to a larger server, go dedicated, or you could create an account with a service like Amazon AWS that will host all of your files. You can take a look at their plans here: https://aws.amazon.com
Once you have a domain and hosting account, you’ll be able to start building your product pages and sell your digital products!
1: Create a content plan that outlines the different types of digital products that you wish to sell.
2: Purchase a digital delivery and product protection system like www.ProductDyno.com, or an alternative solution.
- Register a domain name or use an existing one.
- Set up a hosting account with BlueHost, or another provider, so that you can begin building your product pages and sales copy.

Leveraging the Power of a Sale Funnel
Improving Digital Product Sales With A Funnel! Once you have your first digital product under your belt (or maybe you are the first few) and enjoyed the first profits from the original launch of what you’ve created, it’s time to think about a long-term income strategy.
A funnel is a kind of web page that directs a customer into a sale sequence ( see below). The funnel goes further by setting up a follow-up sequence that can allow you to make additional sales to your customers (down-sell and up-sells). A funnel is not just a web page, but a page built with the intent to offer to a visitor a unique purchase sequence. A funnel offers customers a unique experience that a traditional website doesn’t.
The job of a funnel includes the generation of leads, the sale of products, creation of a membership, collection of email addresses, creation of a summit, setting up an auto webinar, setting of a squeeze page, etc.
A sale funnel can add a simple order form, one upsell, one down-sell, making you make more money on only one purchase from your page.
A sale funnel is increasingly becoming a digital market asset that will phase out the traditional website.
You want to continue to produce and sell more and more digital products, and the best way to do that is to create a funnel. The basic idea of a product funnel is to draw people in with a free or low-cost product and then continually upsell them to more and more expensive and involved products that go into more detail about what they need to know, become more complex, and give them more and more hands-on, advanced training.
You don’t just want to see one little eBook about the basics. Instead, you want to be able to sell this same customer multiple products in a variety of formats and price ranges. ! The hardest part of marketing digital products is finding your customers. Once you’ve made that first sale with someone and you’ve gained their trust, it becomes much easier to sell them other products. That’s why product funnels are so important.
Marketing to people who know and love what you do is much easier and a lot more fun than going out there and trying to convert cold leads. ! Get out a piece of paper and start planning out your product funnel. Start with a lead magnet and a low-cost intro product. From there, come up with a list of other products you want to create going forward. A fully fleshed-out product funnel isn’t something you’ll have in place overnight.
It’s a work in progress and something you’ll continue to build and expand over the coming months and years. ! As you work more closely with your target audience and get to know them better, you’ll be able to fine-tune this funnel and create the products they want and need. You don’t even have to stop there.
Once your basic digital product funnel is in place, circle back and look at it from a different angle. What other lead magnets and introductory products can you create that will feed more people into your product funnel. With each one of those you create, you’ll be able to increase subscribers, customers, and of course sales across the board. Since the rest of the funnel will be in place at this point, you’re multiplying your income potential each time you add another piece to the puzzle. That gives you the leverage you need to build a thriving business that will continue to grow.
Where to generate traffic?
You can use Paid Traffic Such as Bing, Facebook, and Google Paid Ads. You can also explore some other non-Orthodox traffic sources such as Press Release Sites, Question and Answer Sites ( Such as Quora), Social Medias, Forums, etc. These underground Traffic Sources can bring you unlimited quality traffic. you need to take time to explore and understand them. I wrote a post about these other traffic sources. you can view the post here.
